MBABANE-The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) is proudly celebrating the outstanding achievements of two young athletes who have brought honour to the Kingdom at the ongoing inaugural School Games in Algeria.
Siphiwokuhle Ndlela led the charge by securing two bronze medals in Taekwondo, showcasing exceptional skill and discipline in a highly competitive field. Her double podium finish highlights her dedication to the sport and signals a bright future for martial arts in Eswatini.
Joining the medal tally is boxing sensation Khetselo Mziyako, who claimed a bronze medal after a series of impressive bouts. His performance in the ring demonstrated not only his fighting spirit but also the rising talent in Eswatini’s boxing circles.
EOCGA commended both athletes for their commitment, sportsmanship, and for flying the nation’s flag high on an international platform. These victories are a reflection of hard work, proper guidance from coaches, and the growing strength of school-level sport in the country.
Speaking to this publication, the Communications Officer of the EOCGA, Mkhulisi Dlamini expressed his gratitude to the athletes stating that it gives them the exposure to gauge themselves in regional levels.
“We are pleased with the performance of our athletes and we do take note that some of these athletes has participated in Nambia in less than a month ago. So this consistent competition do bring out the best on our athletes and we would really be pleased if many would get such an exposure because that is where they are able to gauge themselves in the region.” Dlamini said.
As the School Games continue in Algeria, the EOCGA remains confident that these young stars are paving the way for even greater success and are an inspiration to their peers back home.
