MBABANE – The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) will join the global community in celebrating International Customs Day 2025 under the theme, “Customs Delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security, and Prosperity.”
The event will take place on Friday, 24 January 2025, at the ERS Headquarters in Ezulwini from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
This year’s program will feature a panel discussion titled “ERS Customs Solutions Driving Efficiency, Security, and Prosperity in Trade,” moderated by ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule.
The panel includes esteemed experts such as Precious Chauya, Acting Commissioner for Customs & Excise, and E. Nathi Dlamini, CEO of Business Eswatini.
Topics will cover digitalization initiatives, the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, and opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The event will also recognize outstanding contributions to trade efficiency through the presentation of World Customs Organization (WCO) Recognition Certificates. Key speakers, including Ministers Neal Rijkenberg and Manqoba Khumalo, and Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, will emphasize the critical role of Customs in boosting trade, revenue mobilization, and economic resilience.
“ERS remains steadfast in advancing innovative trade facilitation solutions that attract investment and drive sustainable development,” said Brightwell Nkambule, ERS Commissioner General.
