SITEKI -As part of the ongoing Familiarisation Tour powered by the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA), a group of local influencers, content creators, and media personalities made a special stop at the stylish Espinho Restaurant and Bar.
The warm and elegant ambiance of Espinho provided the perfect setting for the group to relax and enjoy a gourmet lunch after a packed itinerary that included visits to the Manzini Market, Ekupholeni Garden Villas, and paintballing at Khuselwa Farm Adventures. But the visit to Espinho was more than just a culinary experience, it was also an inspiring encounter with the restaurant’s passionate owner, Thembi Jwankie.
Jwankie, who personally invited the media and influencers to experience Espinho, took the opportunity to welcome the group and express her gratitude for the role that both the media and the Eswatini Tourism Authority play in promoting local businesses like hers. “I’m truly honoured to be part of this tour and to host such vibrant storytellers who are reshaping how the world sees Eswatini,” she said.
She highlighted that while tourism often conjures up images of scenic landscapes and game reserves, it is also about experiencing the culture, food, and creativity of the people. “Restaurants like Espinho are part of the tourism value chain. When you promote Eswatini, you’re also promoting our food, our service, our dreams. I see the impact of what ETA is doing, and the media and influencers are helping tell that story beautifully,” she added.
The Familiarisation Tour, which includes stops across various tourism hotspots in Eswatini, is designed to immerse local digital storytellers and media representatives in the country’s diverse tourism offering. By experiencing it firsthand, these content creators are better positioned to authentically share Eswatini’s charm with their audiences, both locally and globally.
Among the tour participants were Sithembile Hlatshwayo from Eswatini Observer, Zinhle Matsenjwa from Times of Eswatini, Tlalane Dlamini from Eswatini Positive News, as well as influencers Gcinisizwe “Nurse Wekhantri” Buthelezi, Bonkhe Shabangu, Nomzamo ‘Zaza’ Dlamini, and Temlandvo Vilakati. Their presence brought vibrant energy, real-time social media engagement, and meaningful conversations about the future of local tourism.
At Espinho, the visitors were treated to a carefully curated menu that blended international cuisine with local flavours. From signature dishes to handcrafted cocktails, the experience was a reminder that Eswatini’s culinary scene is as vibrant and creative as its people.
The stop at Espinho Restaurant and Bar not only nourished their bodies but also reminded them of the important role they play in elevating Eswatini’s image.
In the words of Jwankie, “When we work together government, business, and media ,we create a powerful force for growth, pride, and progress in Eswatini’s tourism industry.”
As part of her continued commitment to amplifying local tourism and showcasing Espinho as a premier lifestyle destination, Jwankie also extended a special invitation to the media and influencers to attend the upcoming Easter Weekend celebration on April 19,2025 headlined by the iconic DJ Fresh, supported by top local DJs. The event, themed “Indulge in Elegance: Dance in Style with DJ Fresh,” promises an unforgettable night of music, entertainment, and signature Espinho hospitality.
