SITEKI – Assistant manager of Espinho Restaurant & Bar, Cassandra Steenkamp, yesterday handed over a cheque of E 5000.00 to SOS Children’s Villages in Siteki.
Speaking on behalf of the management, Cassandra shared that as a newly established business, Espinho found it necessary to form relationships with local businesses, who serve as their clientele. “We are very happy to donate to SOS Children’s Villages, as part of our CSI programme. “We believe that even the children being raised by the organization are going to be our clients in future”, she elaborated.
Siteki Village Director, Nonhlanhla Mkhabela appreciated the gracious donation by Espinho and affirmed that it will indeed go along way to enrich the lives of the children and young people in the care of SOS Children’s Villages. “We are in era of financial hardships as an organization and we truly appreciate all the support we receive from corporates and partners, as it helps us to continue servicing our target audience”, she said.
Hlobisile Skhosana , the Fund Development Manager of SOS Children’s Villages, stated that “ SOS Children’s Villages understands the critical role that businesses play in creating sustainable change for vulnerable children. We want to move beyond traditional ‘CSR’ relationships and instead embrace transformational and strategic partnerships with progressive businesses that share our values. We partner with companies and organizations in achieving our common Sustainable Development Goals”. She further shared that “different kinds of donations help SOS Children’s Village to fulfil its mandate. Donations could be finance or in-kind donations like food, toiletries, clothing, furniture. Donations can also come in form of services offered to SOS Children’s Village at no cost. As for financial donations, cash/cheque can be dropped at any of the SOS Children’s Village locations”.
