MBABANE – The Kingdom of Eswatini has reaffirmed its steadfast belief in diplomacy and peaceful engagement as the most effective tools for resolving international disputes.
This comes in the wake of recent developments regarding the United States’ threats to impose sanctions on the Republic of South Africa.
Speaking on behalf of the government, the Government Spokesperson emphasized that Eswatini stands firmly by the values enshrined in multilateral and bilateral cooperation agreements.
These agreements, the spokesperson noted, encourage diplomacy, mediation, and international cooperation over conflict.
“Sanctions should not be the first tool nations reach for when disagreements arise,” the spokesperson stated. “Eswatini, as a committed member of organizations like SADC, the African Union, and the United Nations, remains a vocal advocate for resolving issues through dialogue.”
The Government of Eswatini expressed confidence that the Republic of South Africa and the United States of America will navigate their current disagreements by engaging in constructive discussions, avoiding confrontational approaches.
“The world yearns for peace, security, and tranquility,” the statement read. “We are encouraged by South Africa’s willingness to engage directly with Washington, and we continue to believe in the strength and maturity of American foreign policy when applied with clarity and precision.”
Eswatini’s position reflects a broader commitment to regional harmony and global cooperation. The government concluded by urging all nations to prioritize diplomacy over discord in the spirit of building a more united and peaceful world.
