MBABANE – In a proud and inspiring ceremony this week, Eswatini’s national athletes were rewarded with a total of E265 000 in cash incentives for their podium performances during the second quarter of the year in the regional stage.
The awards, presented under the National Rewards Incentive Programme, recognized achievements across swimming, Special Olympics, athletics, boxing, darts, taekwondo, and equestrian competitions.
The programme, rooted in the National Sports Policy, reflects the Government’s commitment to celebrating sporting excellence. Gold medalists received E20 000, silver medalists E10 000, and bronze medalists E5 000, highlighting a structured and dignified approach to acknowledging success.

Speaking at the ceremony, the minister of sports culture and youth affairs , Bongani Nzima emphasized that these rewards are more than just monetary. “Your triumphs are not merely personal milestone, they are national victories that inspire every young boy and girl in our communities to believe that their dreams are posdible.” Said Nzima.
The ceremony also shone a spotlight on the country’s football ambassadors competing on the continental stage, including Royal Leopards in the CAF Confederations Cup and Nsingizini Hotspurs in the CAF Champions League. Officials encouraged them to continue striving for excellence, with hopes of future podium celebrations at the African level.
With E265 000 invested in rewarding dedication and success, the Government sends a clear message: the hard work of Eswatini athletes is valued, and their achievements inspire future generations to dream bigger and aim higher. The ceremony celebrated not just medals, but resilience, perseverance, and the power of sport to unite and uplift the nation.
