MANZINI – A night of Inspiration and talent!
The Eswatini Gold Art Gala was a resounding success,showcasing the rich tapestry of talent within a vibrant arts community, last Sunday at Kilimanjaro Lifestyle.
The event was a celebration of creativity, featuring stunning performances from an array of talented artists, including Christian Maz, Shawn G, Menzi Africa, Danzero, and Emry Zee. The programme directorswere Buhle Dlamini and Trenton Mlangeni, this was confirmed by Eswatini Gold CEO Mayibongwe Magagula.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome from the event organizers Interim Committee (President- Andiswa Mhlanga,V.President Mlandvo,CEO-Mayibongwe Magagula and COO-Pholiswa), who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their support of the local arts scene.
The stage was then electrified by the captivating performances that followed. Each artist brought their unique flair, enchanting the audience and leaving them in awe. Christian Maz’s soulful melodies resonated throughout the lifestyle, while Shawn G’s energetic hip-hop rhythms had attendees dancing in their seats. Menzi Africa’s traditional sounds reminded us of our rich cultural heritage, and Danzero and Emry Zed rounded off the performances with their dynamic and innovative styles on the decks.
Magagula shared with this publication that the highlight of the evening was a of guests maneuvering around having a taste of handcraft art by Noxolo the Fashion designer, Fufu-Health and beauty pageant, Linda I Swazi Art, Mabureni- clean pro and an inspiring motivational speech which was delivered by Zakhele Mabuza from ENFTVA and the Mayor of Manzini Ward 3, who emphasised the importance of supporting local artists and fostering a cultural environment where creativity can thrive. His words resonated deeply, reminding us that the arts are not just a form of entertainment but also a vital part of our community’s identity.
Adding to the motivation of the night, Siyabonga Nkambule from ENFTVA shared insights into the future of the arts in Eswatini, while Sebenta Mhlanga and Hloniphile Sihlongonyane from Isitha the Enemy captivated the audience with their powerful testimonies about overcoming challenges in the creative industry. Santos from This Life, along with Popzin, Slwane, and the chairperson of arts and culture, Kenneth Tsabedze, also spoke passionately about the need for collaboration and support among artists.
The gala not only highlighted the incredible talent of local artists but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration among attendees. The positive energy in the room was palpable, with many expressing their desire to continue supporting and promoting the arts in Eswatini.
