MBABANE – The Eswatini Male Netball National had a prefect start in the Africa Netball Cup currently held in Swakopmund, Namibia.
They defeated Zimbabwe 49-45 in the game played on Monday morning. Eswatini is represented by the male and women’s team in the tournament that will end on December 14. The victorious team is led by Wandile Sithole and he is assisted by Themba Sifundza with Edgar Phila Maphalala being team doctor.
Eswatini team started with Ndukwe Masangane, Sandziso Maseko, Simanga Vilakati, Mandisa Sishlongonyane, Mpendulo Mncina, Fortune Nerves and Sakhile Maseko. Reserves were Sphiwo Dlamini, Thembinkosi Matsebula, Thabo Maphosa, and Nkosingphile Masilela.
The men’s team is up against six countries with the others being Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Eswatini will face Kenya and Namibia on Tuesday morning and afternoon respectively. On Wednesday the team will face South Africa.
Meanwhile, the women’s team was yet to get down to action against Namibia in the official opening match of the tournament.
