ESWATINI NATIONAL ARTS AND CULTURE COUNCIL TO HOST THREE-DAY ARTS SUMMIT

MATSAPHA – The Eswatini Arts and Culture Council (ENCAC) is set to host a three-day Arts Summit at the Institute of Development Management (IDM) from January 29 to 31, 2025.

The event, free to attend but requires prior registration, aims to bring together seasoned professionals from various creative industries to explore opportunities, share expertise, and address critical topics such as intellectual property (IP), royalties, and funding.

ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini confirmed the details of the summit, highlighting its significance for the creative sector. “The Arts Summit represents an important step forward for the creative industries in Eswatini, fostering new opportunities, networking, and addressing critical issues facing the sector. We look forward to hosting you in Matsapha,” he said.

Day-by-Day Breakdown:

  • Day 1: Film and Television The opening day will focus on the film and television industry, featuring presentations by experienced producers and commissioning editors. They will share insights and experiences to help attendees understand the dynamics of the industry.
  • Day 2: Music The second day will delve into music, emphasizing intellectual property, royalties, and funding. Representatives from major collecting societies such as SAMRO, IMPRA, and AIRCO will discuss the royalties collection process and address artists’ concerns. Entertainment law will also be a topic of discussion.
  • Day 3: Events, Awards, and Festivals The final day will explore the intricacies of hosting successful events and creating a vibrant events calendar for Eswatini. Attendees will gain insights into effective event planning and execution.

Open Invitation and Logistics

Dlamini extended an invitation to all NACA nominees, winners, artists, filmmakers, producers, authors, and other interested parties to attend the summit. Registration is required, and food will be provided on-site. Additionally, transportation arrangements can be requested for attendees traveling from outside the Mbabane and Manzini regions.
