MBABANE – In a world filled with unexpected trials and uncertainties, Apostle Ken Lukumba reminds us of a timeless truth: God is our ever-present refuge and strength.
Quoting Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” Apostle Lukumba encourages believers to lean into God’s presence when life becomes overwhelming. “Hardships may come uninvited,” he says, “but we are never alone when we trust in the Lord.”
From financial struggles to illness, stress, and personal loss—challenges are part of life. But referencing John 10:10, Apostle Lukumba emphasizes that while “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy,” believers are not left defenseless. “Being with God doesn’t mean troubles won’t come,” he says, “but it means we don’t have to face them alone or in fear.”
He powerfully adds, “We were created to rely on God, not to carry life’s burdens by ourselves. We cannot heal or save ourselves—only God can.”
This message serves as a heartfelt reminder that trusting in God brings inner strength and hope, even in the darkest moments. “Don’t look at your problems as bigger than God,” Apostle Lukumba urges. “Even the strongest idols people fear are nothing compared to our mighty God.”
So, what should we do when struggles arise?
“Bring everything to God,” he advises. “Surrender what you cannot control and trust in His divine power. There is peace in knowing He is in charge.”
As believers, we are reminded of the comforting lyrics of a popular gospel song: “Manginaye, ngiko konkhe emphilweni yami” – “With God, I have everything in my life.”
No challenge is too big for God. Faith may not remove life’s difficulties, but it assures us we’ll never walk through them alone. Let us continue to trust, pray, and believe—for in God’s hands, every burden becomes a testimony of His power and love.
