MBABANE – Poetry & Acoustics, Mbabane’s much-loved artistic showcase, is making a triumphant return this September with an exciting international headline act.
On 25 September 2025, the serene Bahle Gallery 112 will once again transform into a sanctuary of words and melodies, as audiences gather for an evening of poetry and acoustic music under candlelight. Leading this year’s line-up is South African poet and musician Flex of He & I, the acclaimed project spearheaded by Phomolo Sekamotho. Known for his ability to merge poetic storytelling with rhythmic soundscapes, Flex promises a performance that will leave a lasting impression on Eswatini’s arts scene.
Since its inception, Poetry & Acoustics has carved out a reputation as more than just a concert series. It offers a retreat from the fast pace of daily life, providing audiences with an intimate and reflective space where creativity takes centre stage. The gallery’s art-filled walls, coupled with stripped-back acoustic sets, amplify the raw beauty of performance, allowing words and music to connect deeply with those present.
This edition of the series carries a special cultural significance. Flex’s visit forms part of a week-long exchange programme funded by Concerts SA, designed to foster collaboration and artistic growth between Eswatini and South Africa. In addition to headlining at Bahle Gallery, Flex will host an arts development workshop for local creatives and perform at the renowned House On Fire in Malkerns on Friday, 26 September.
Organisers describe Poetry & Acoustics as a platform that goes beyond entertainment, serving as a catalyst for nurturing artistic voices and sparking dialogue on themes such as love, resilience, and identity. With its commitment to bridging cultures and showcasing both established and emerging talent, the event continues to enrich Eswatini’s cultural calendar.
Tickets are priced at E200, offering audiences the chance to immerse themselves in a rare blend of artistry that is both globally inspired and rooted in the local creative spirit.
