MBABANE – Green Mamba will play South Africa’s Supersport United among the five practise matches they will play in South Africa in the coming week.
The Ingwenyama Cup Champions left the country on Sunday and their first stop was Mpumalanga where they were to face Fernie Battalions in Ermelo while on Tuesday, they will face Casric Stars in Pretoria.
The team will not rest as it will continue with the practise matches playing Leruma United on Wednesday at Daveyton and Supersport United will be next on Thursday in Pretoria and the last match before they return home is against Oporo in Highlands.
Green Mamba took the opportunity to continue with their pre-season after the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) postpones the kick-off of the 2024/ 25 MTN Premier League due to the pending Manzini Wanderers’ court case.
“Our journey leads to Pretoria tomorrow, for our pre-season that lasts for a week,” wrote the team on their official Facebook page.
Green Mamba are the dominating team so far in the country as they were on the brink of defending both the MTN Premier League and the Ingwenyama Cup last season but they fell short in the league with Mbabane Swallows crowned champions. They were unstoppable in the Ingwenyama Cup were they defended the title by winning 1-0 against Mbabane Swallow sin the finals with the goals scored by Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa.
Green Mamba Coach Ernest Mavuso will be looking forward at starting the season on a high as the Eswatini International Trade Fair will b first to kick-off before the MTN Premier League.
