MBABANE – The country’s three professional golfers, James Pennington, Mandla Dlamini Jnr, and Brandon-Jude Rennie, are in action in South Africa as they compete to qualify for the MyGolfLife Open Qualifier.
The qualifiers are currently underway at the Waterkloof Golf Club, where 74 professional golfers are battling for 15 spots in the main tournament. The qualifiers will be played over one round, with the top 15 golfers advancing to the main tournament, which boasts sponsorship worth approximately E7 million.
The main tournament is scheduled to take place from January 30 to February 2, 2025, at the Pecanwood Golf and Country Club. It will be contested over four rounds.
The Pecanwood Golf and Country Club is a hallmark of South African golf and one of five signature courses designed by Jack Nicklaus in the country. Situated on the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam, this course has been meticulously crafted to challenge golfers’ skills to the fullest.
According to Sunshinetour.com, the fairways are generous and inviting, and the Crenshaw bentgrass greens remain immaculate year-round. Although the course is predominantly flat, its high mounds, carefully designed water features, and strategically placed bunkers—set amidst scenic mountain views and vast expanses of water—offer a challenging and engaging golfing experience.
