GOVERNMENT INVESTS OVER E3 MILLION IN ZOMBODZE  EDUCATION

MBABANE –The Government through the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, has delivered a significant boost to rural education by handing over infrastructure projects worth over E3 million to schools in Zombodze, Emuva.

The projects were funded through the Regional Development Fund (RDF), demonstrating the state’s continued commitment to grassroots development.The handover was led by the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Hon. S’khumbuzo Dlamini, who officially presented the newly completed facilities to the benefiting communities. The facilities include an agricultural laboratory and a kitchen for Ngwane Central Primary School, a consumer science lab for Ekuthuleni Primary School, and a block of three new classrooms for Ndvungunye Primary School.

According to Minister Dlamini, these projects represent more than just infrastructure, they are an investment in the nation’s future. He acknowledged the role of the local communities, noting that their contributions were crucial to the successful completion of the projects. Parents provided in-kind support by helping with manual labour, constructing walls, and sourcing materials such as river sand and plaster. Their active participation reflected a strong community spirit and a shared dedication to improving educational outcomes for their children.

The minister emphasized that education remains central to the Government’s poverty alleviation strategy. He pointed out that quality infrastructure contributes directly to a better learning environment, which in turn enhances learners’ potential and academic success.

“These projects represent a substantial investment in our children’s future,” he said. “Through these high-quality structures, our learners now have a more suitable and conducive environment for an optimal learning experience, fostering their growth and potential.”

Minister Dlamini further highlighted that such community-driven initiatives reflect the broader vision of His Majesty’s Government to ensure development reaches the grassroots. The handover in Zombodze Emuva is a clear demonstration of this commitment.

Over the past two years, the RDF has allocated about E8 million to Zombodze, Emuva Inkhundla. These funds have been used to support a variety of development projects, including feedlots, dip tanks, classroom blocks, and school fencing , all aimed at uplifting the standard of living for emaSwati in rural areas.

The success of these projects underlines the collaborative effort between government and local communities in building a better Eswatini. Through continued partnership and investment, rural education and infrastructure are being transformed ,one school at a time.
