MDUMEZULU – The residents of Mdumezulu Chiefdom, under Dvokodvweni Inkhundla in the Lubombo Region, have a reason to celebrate as the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development officially handed over a new community hall, marking a significant milestone in local development.
For years, community meetings in Mdumezulu were held under trees, leaving residents vulnerable to inclement weather. The newly completed hall changes that, providing a safe and comfortable space for gatherings.

The handover ceremony took place on August 20, 2025 by Indvuna Mtiti Fakudze, chairperson of the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) Board and former Cabinet Minister. The event was attended by Dvokodvweni Member of Parliament Mduduzi Tshabalala, engineers from Microprojects, and local residents, who all celebrated the milestone.
Indvuna Fakudze expressed the community’s deep gratitude to Microprojects for the facility, which will accommodate over 500 residents attending meetings. “We thank Microprojects for this community hall, which ensures that attendance at meetings will improve regardless of weather conditions,” he said.

He urged the community to organize seating, maintain the hall, and protect it from straying livestock. “This project benefits the entire community, and we must show our appreciation to the Tinkhundla system of government for facilitating such developments,” he added.

Wandile Dlamini from Microprojects commended the residents for their dedication throughout the construction process. MP Tshabalala also encouraged the community to care for the hall, highlighting It as a symbol of government commitment to bringing services closer to the people.
The Mdumezulu hall handover is part of a broader government initiative to improve infrastructure across various chiefdoms.
The Ministry of Economic Planning and Development reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing community infrastructure and supporting projects that directly benefit the people of Eswatini.
