MBABANE- The Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development has awarded Ngololweni Primary and High Schools with infrastructure funding of E1 million.
The presentation was made by the Minister Of Tinkhundla and Developments Sikhumbuzo Dlamini on Saturday (29 June 2024). It is stated the funding will cover projects that include the construction of an administration block at Ngololweni High School and fencing at Ngololweni Primary School.
“The ministry realises the importance of ensuring the sustainability of these projects as it is the Ministry’s mandate to promote and ensure sustainable development in all communities. The Ministry has, therefore, commissioned an impact assessment exercise to determine performance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the RDF projects since 2015,” he said.
Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini revealed that a team has been assigned to Ngololweni community to assess the effectiveness of the funded projects and gather feedback from the community regarding future improvements.
He expressed his optimism in the potential of Ngololweni, which is one of the 50 chiefdoms that has successfully developed a chiefdom development plan (CDP). He voiced his conviction that the CDP is not just a document gathering dust, but a living guide for prioritizing developmental projects. The Minister also noted that Ngololweni has received support from the CDP for a project aimed at conserving a 30-hectare wetland, constructing an earth dam to support biodiversity restoration, and providing aid to Ngololweni Siyalima Farmers.
Ngololweni is one of the five chiefdoms situated under Sandleni Constituency (Inkhundla) in the Shiselweni Region.
