MBABANE – The Ministry of Health has ensured uninterrupted access to life-saving HIV treatment for the nation.

Acting under the leadership of Minister Mduduzi Matsebula, the Ministry has successfully procured and delivered a fresh supply of TLD (Tenofovir, Lamivudine, and Dolutegravir) – the country’s key first-line antiretroviral therapy (ART) drug.

This timely action comes in response to unfounded concerns sparked by a social media rumour suggesting that TLD would soon be unavailable. Determined to safeguard public confidence and protect lives, the Ministry moved ahead of schedule to stock more than two months’ supply of TLD at the Central Medical Stores (CMS).

“This is about putting our people first,” said Matsebula. “We are committed to ensuring no one misses their treatment.”

The procurement also acts as a buffer in case of any delays in the ART medication stock expected at the end of the month through the National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA). With this decisive action, Eswatini once again demonstrates its commitment to universal healthcare and the wellbeing of its people.
