MBABANE – Ingwenyama Cup defending champions, Green Mamba have boasted their squad by signing former Mbabane Swallows forward Siyabonga Zwane.
The former dysfunctional Vovovo FC player signed on the dotted lines on Tuesday with the Ingwenyama Cup set to kick-off this weekend. Green Mamba will start their campaign of defending the title against MTN National First Division side Masundvwini Royal Swallows.
Zwane is among the players who resigned from the troubled Mbabane Swallows. He follows his former team-mates at Mbabane Swallows Leon Manyisa who was unveiled by Young Buffaloes on Friday and he is also set to debut for the army side this weekend in the Ingwenyama Cup when they play Nsenga Comrades.
“Green Mamba Football Club is thrilled to welcome Siyabonga Zwane, a talented forward, to the Green and white family. Siyabonga joins us from Mbabane Swallows FC, and we are excited to see him bring his skills and passion to our team,” wrote Green Mamba on their social media pages.
Zwane joins the likes of Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu who both played for Mbabane Swallows. He will be working under Ernest Mavuso.
Zwane was part of the Mbabane Swallows team that won the MTN Premier League and also played in the CAF Champions League against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the first round of the preliminaries.
