Eswatini’s Grixxly has recently gained significant traction in the music industry with his mixtape ‘Bear With Me,’which has achieved over 33,000 streams on Spotify within just 10 days of its release.
In an exclusive interview, Grixxly shared his excitement: “It feels amazing to finally be getting the recognition from around the world after working on such a project for close to a year.”
‘Bear With Me’ is a 10+track mixtape* that showcases Grixxly’s diverse artistry, blending genres such as azz-infused boom bapand African chant-infused Jersey club sounds within the hip-hop umbrella.
Collaborative Efforts
Grixxly attributes much of the mixtape’s success to the contributions of featured artists including Oriiginelle, Pdot O, Amarii, Lyrikal Busta, Sarnilo, Swiss, and Mzwaa. He emphasizes the importance of quality production and the collaborative efforts of the Antidote Music team .in creating the final product.
The impressive streaming numbers reflect a growing appreciation for Swati music on a global scale. Grixxly noted: “It shows me that people are actually listening to music, and at a grander scale, people are now more receptive to listening to Swati music.”
He expressed immense gratitude to his team members Sakhile Brainz Mkhonta and Qiniso “IQ” Motsa for their exceptional work on the mixtape: “I’m forever grateful to them for providing the quality that we have now.”
