MACETJENI – From a crumbling two-room mud hut to a brand-new home, the life of 72-year-old Mkhulu Albert Majahangwane Magongo has been beautifully transformed—thanks to the kindness and compassion of Her Majesty Indlovukazi.

Once resigned to hardship, Mkhulu Magongo’s story took a heartwarming turn when Her Majesty learned of his plight through Ntombi Matse, her emissary at Ludzidzini. What began as a simple act of charity—quarterly food parcels delivered by Chief Mshengu’s wife—blossomed into a full-scale effort to restore dignity to his life.

On a joyous day in Macetjeni, Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla officially opened Mkhulu Magongo’s new house, constructed under the direction of the DPM’s Office in partnership with the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA). The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (USDF) also played a vital role, providing technical expertise and manpower.

A visibly emotional Mkhulu Magongo expressed deep gratitude to Her Majesty Indlovukazi for changing his life. “I never thought I would live in a proper house,” he said. “Ngiyabonga kakhulu kuMajesty wami.”

DPM Dladla praised Their Majesties for their commitment to uplifting the vulnerable, stating, “This is what leadership with a heart looks like.” She encouraged communities to support one another and heed His Majesty King Mswati III’s recent call to ensure no Liswati is left living in inadequate housing.

She further announced that another home will soon be built for a vulnerable family, reaffirming government’s ongoing commitment to improving lives across the kingdom.

The ceremony was attended by Gilgal MP Sifiso Gadlela, community leaders, USDF Representative Col. Vilakati, and residents—each witness to the power of compassion, unity, and royal care.
