BUHLENI – His Majesty King Mswati III today embarked on a significant tour of the E35 million Mkhuzweni Technical Centre in the Hhohho Region, marking a notable stride in Eswatini’s commitment to sports development.

The state-of-the-art centre, supported by FIFA and implemented by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA), aims to nurture local talent and promote sports accessibility for all emaSwati.

The Mkhuzweni Technical Centre is part of a broader vision by the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs to establish world-class sporting infrastructure across all four regions of the country. During the tour, His Majesty expressed appreciation for the progress made and highlighted the importance of sports in uniting communities and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth. The facility is set to host various training programs and tournaments, serving as a cornerstone for the development of football and other sports in the region.

Following the Mkhuzweni tour, His Majesty proceeded to Matsamo, where he visited the Matsamo Tourism Centre, a vibrant cultural hub that showcases Eswatini’s rich heritage and traditions. The centre, known for its authentic Swazi homesteads, traditional dances, and craft markets, has been instrumental in boosting cultural tourism and creating job opportunities for local artisans. His Majesty commended the management of Matsamo Tourism Centre for their efforts in preserving and promoting Eswatini’s culture to both local and international visitors.

These visits underscore His Majesty’s dedication to diversifying the nation’s economy through sports and tourism development. By investing in such transformative projects, Eswatini continues to pave the way for sustainable growth and enhanced livelihoods for its citizens.
