MBABANE – The Ingwenyama Cup is set to elevate the standard of football in Eswatini while promoting unity through culture.
Speaking at the last 32 draw on Monday at the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) offices in Mbabane, Prince Bukhosi, representing the tournament board, emphasized the event’s potential to develop local talent and produce international football stars.
“It would be great for the country to have players compete overseas, and tournaments like the Ingwenyama Cup can make this a reality,” said Prince Bukhosi.
He highlighted that His Majesty King Mswati III envisions the tournament as a platform for success and emphasized the importance of maintaining respect and safety during the games.
“Culture unites the country. It is essential for us to remain united to secure a prosperous future. Through this tournament, the world can witness the beauty of our culture,” he added.
Prince Bukhosi also noted the King’s active interest in the tournament, commending Emaswati for their discipline and respect, which have ensured the competition remains free of violence. The Majesties are particularly impressed by the tournament’s progress from the regional level to the elite leagues.
