MBABANE – With the quarter-finalists of the E5 million Ingwenyama Cup now decided, the tournament is on pause to make way for the second round of the MTN Premier League.
The eight teams advancing to the Ingwenyama Cup quarter-finals are Royal Leopard, Mbabane Swallows, Moneni Pirates, Ezulwini United, Lozitha Spurs, Young Buffaloes, Illovo, and Manzini Sea Birds.
The MTN Premier League last saw action two weeks ago, during which Royal Leopard secured the E100 000 first-round incentive by outperforming Green Mamba. The team further deepened Green Mamba’s woes by eliminating them from the Ingwenyama Cup.
According to Ingwenyama Cup spokesperson Nkosilenhle ‘Makawosi’ Masuku, the tournament will resume after the quarter-final draw is conducted. The date and schedule for the draw and subsequent matches will be announced later.
As the MTN Premier League resumes with Week 14, the highlight clash features log leaders Royal Leopard taking on Mbabane Highlanders. Meanwhile, Nsingizini Hotspurs, who are chasing the title, will face Young Buffaloes. The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is expected to release the full fixtures, including venues and kick-off times, in due course.
