MANZINI – The Zakhele Sports Ground was filled with excitement as local supporters gathered to welcome the New Year with a thrilling soccer tournament.
Organised by Manzini South MP Owen Nxumalo, who is also the Minister of Education, the event commenced on December 31, 2024, and continued into the New Year, attracting enthusiastic crowds from the community.
This annual tournament has become a festive highlight, showcasing the talent and passion of local teams. While Minister Nxumalo sponsored the event with E6 000, Instacash contributed by providing official jerseys for the winner, enhancing the competitive spirit of the matches.
Minister Nxumalo expressed his appreciation for Instacash’s support, stressing the importance of community engagement through sports. “These games offer an excellent platform for our youth to showcase their talents and bring families together in celebration,” he remarked.
The tournament featured fierce competition among four teams, with Ngwane Park FC emerging as the champions, claiming E2 000 and a new soccer kit. The final standings were:
1. Winners: Ngwane Park FC – E2 000 plus soccer kit
2. Second Place: Two Sticks Comrades
3. Third Place: Bradford FC
4. Fourth Place: God’s Property
