MBABANE – King Mswati III has called for a global commitment to education, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship as key drivers of sustainable development. Speaking at the World Government Summit 2025, he emphasized that the future of governance must prioritize human capital development.
“Education is the great equalizer. Governments must invest in adaptive, inclusive educational systems that equip future generations with the skills necessary to navigate evolving job markets,” the King stated.
Eswatini is focusing on digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership development as part of its education reforms. The King stressed that the digital divide must be bridged to ensure equal access to opportunities.
“In the digital age, access to technology should not be a privilege but a fundamental right,” he declared. The government has already initiated programs to expand ICT education in schools and vocational training centers, ensuring that young people acquire relevant skills for the modern workforce.
With the Royal Science and Technology Park playing a key role in technological innovation, Eswatini is positioning itself to empower young people to become job creators rather than job seekers.
King Mswati III urged world leaders to integrate education and skills development into governance policies, ensuring that future generations are equipped to thrive in an increasingly digitalized world.
