MBABANE – Financial deal.
The Junior Achievement (JA) Eswatini and Umelusi Fund Managers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enable members of the JA and the JA alumni to have access to finance so that they can start and/or grow their businesses.
This initiative has seen as having a potential to improve the lives of members and former members of JA Eswatini.
One of the ways to access finance is a concept known as the business shower, which will be done during the Eswatini International Trade Fair this year. A business shower is when someone is celebrated for starting a business. When a friend starts a business, all his friends and associates come together, congratulate him and bring resources for his business. It is the same concept as that of baby showers, where friends come to celebrate a friend who is about to give birth to a child.
Speaking at the signing ceremony JA Executive Director Phetsile Masilela expressed her gratitude in the partnership thanking Umelusi for prioritising the youth of Eswatini.
She said the seed capital received during the Business Shower is meant to assist the budding entrepreneurs. to build a financial history for their businesses and also get all the company documents required of them.
It is also stated that this year’s Business Shower will be held during the Trade Fair. Other partners include the Taiwan Embassy and FINCORP.
