EZULWINI – Kabza De Small on the way to Mdzimba!
The renowned King of Amapiano, Kabza De Small, is preparing for an electrifying performance at Mdzimba View Shisanyama. The highly anticipated event has been announced on the venue’s social media, creating a buzz among fans. A recent post teased, “Drum roll. The King is on the way. Stay tuned for more detailed information,” hinting at an unforgettable experience.
When reached for comment Mdzimba View Shisanyama’s Mawillies born Manqoba Dlamini confirmed the show, and shared that more details including the date will be announced soon.
Kabza highly anticipated show comes fresh from the highly successful Scotts Maphuma’s sow which was held last month.
Kabelo Motha, better known as Kabza De Small, has established himself as a key figure in the Amapiano genre, which has captivated audiences in South Africa and around the world. Often referred to as the ‘King of Amapiano,’ he has solidified his status as one of the best-selling artists and a pioneer of this vibrant musical style. Kabza began his career in 2009 as a DJ, experimenting with various genres, including Afro-fused house and EDM. However, it was his breakthrough in 2018 that propelled him into the spotlight, reshaping the landscape of South African music.
Kabza’s rise to fame began with his debut EP, ‘Avenue Sound,’ which highlighted his unique sound and exceptional production skills. Tracks like ‘Amabele Shaya’ and ‘Umshove’ quickly gained traction, establishing him as a powerful force in the industry. His successful collaborations with fellow producer DJ Maphorisa have led to several hit albums, including ‘Scorpion Kings,’ ‘Piano Hub,’ ‘The Return of Scorpion Kings,’ and the latest release, ‘Once Upon A Time in Lockdown.’
In 2019, Kabza De Small was named the most-streamed South African artist on Spotify, showcasing his widespread appeal and influence in the music scene. His second EP, ‘Pretty Girls Love Amapiano,’ featured popular singles like ‘15th Avenue’ and ‘Alex.’
A significant milestone in Kabza’s career came with the release of his debut album, ‘I Am The King of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust,’ on June 26, 2020. The album received critical acclaim and made history by having all 26 tracks simultaneously chart in the Top 30 of the Top 100 music charts. Among the standout tracks was the hit ‘Sponono,’ featuring a stellar lineup of African superstars, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Cassper Nyovest, and Madumane (DJ Maphorisa), along with collaborations with local talents like Shasha and Focalistic.
