LUDZELUDZE- Eswatini fashion takes the spotlight with culture, sustainability, and bold innovation.
Fortunate Mdluli, the creative force behind KaysesCreations, proudly represented Eswatini fashion on one of the biggest platforms, the Mastercard Stage at the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival 2025. For Fortunate, originally from Ludzeludze, the moment was both surreal and empowering.
“It felt exhilarating to see my designs take center stage. All the hard work and passion that went into creating them truly paid off,” she shared.
Her Luju collection was a vibrant showcase of Eswatini’s cultural heritage, fused with modern design elements and created using sustainable materials. With earthy tones and bold prints, Fortunate used traditional fabrics like Ankara alongside contemporary materials to create a compelling narrative of identity, empowerment, and eco-consciousness.
“My goal was to communicate a message of empowerment, innovation and pride in our cultural heritage. I aimed to create a mood that was uplifting, inspiring and bold,” she added.
As the founder of KaysesCreations, Fortunate has built a brand rooted in ethical fashion, offering stylish, eco-friendly clothing options for both men and women. Her label stands out for its use of organic fabrics, upcycled materials, and a strong commitment to ethical production practices, offering an alternative to fast fashion.
The Luju appearance brought not only exposure but a deep sense of pride. One of the most cherished moments for her was receiving praise from fellow Swati designers and fashion enthusiasts, who felt seen and represented by her work.
Looking ahead, Fortunate teased exciting projects that are still under wraps, promising even more innovation from her brand.
“I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Mastercard, Far East Textile and Azuri Africa for their support and belief in KaysesCreations,” she said. “Their contributions played an integral role in bringing our collection to life and making our showcase at the Luju Festival a tremendous success.”
With a growing following and a clear mission, KaysesCreations is poised to make a lasting mark in sustainable African fashion.
