KING CONGRATULATES TRUMP FOR HIS PRESIDENCY WIN

MBABANE – His Majesty King Mswati III has congratulated American President-Elect Donald Trump for being elected as USA President.

The king’s congratulatory message was shared by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini today (Wednesday, November 6, 2024) after it was officially announced that Trump has won the American elections.

“On behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Government and the People of the Kingdom of Eswatini, it is my great pleasure to extend our sincere congratulations to His Excellency President Donald Trump on his successful election as the 47th President of the United States of America,” said the premier.

The prime minister said as the United States of America gathered to celebrate and plan for the future, he also reaffirmed Eswatini’s desire to further enhance and consolidate the bonds of friendship and cooperation that existed between the two nations. “The Kingdom of Eswatini wishes the absolute best of health, happiness and prosperity to the People of the United States of America,” he said.

According to the New York Times, Trump, who leads the Republicans, has won the elections by 277 votes of the American Electoral College, with her main competitor, Kamala Harris of the Democrats garnering 224 votes, at the time of writing this report. According to the same publication, Trump got 71 436 583 votes, which translates to 51.0 percent of the American vote. Harris, on the other hand, got 66 491 625 votes, which translates to 47.5 percent of the American vote.

According to USA Today, during a speech he delivered after winning the elections at about 2:30am American time, Trump promised to make America great again and he would fix everything that needed to be fixed. During the 25-minute speech, Trump said the campaign “overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible,” alluding to two assassination attempts while campaigning.

Joining Trump on stage during the speech were his wife Melania Trump, sons Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Barron Trump, daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, vice presidential candidate JD Vance and Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Trump is becoming the American President for the second time, after being elected for the first time in 2016, beating former US Secretary to the State, Hillary Clinton. However, he could not make it to the US presidency in 2020, as he lost to American President Joe Biden.
