KING ELEVATES UEDF LEADERS IN POWERFUL MILITARY MILESTONE

NOKWANE – A new era of military leadership has dawned in Eswatini as His Majesty King Mswati III, Commander-in-Chief of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF), announced the promotion of six distinguished officers to higher ranks, signaling strength, excellence, and forward momentum for the kingdom’s armed forces.

In a bold and empowering move, five officers have been elevated to the prestigious rank of Brigadier General, while one has earned the rare and honorable promotion to Major General. The announcement follows strategic retirements within the force and reflects the country’s commitment to enhancing leadership capacity and operational readiness.

Promoted to Brigadier General:

  • Mthiza Dlamini
  • Bongani Simelane
  • Comfort Bhembe
  • Bheki Tsabedze
  • Petros Bhembe

Promoted to Major General:

  • Ncanawe Dlamini

Speaking during the announcement, His Majesty revealed that some of the newly promoted officers are currently undergoing advanced training abroad—an indication of Eswatini’s drive to align with international defence standards and equip its top brass with global insights and expertise.

“This is a moment of pride and progress for our Defence Force,” the King shared. “We recognize talent, discipline, and loyalty. These officers have shown unwavering commitment to the security and sovereignty of our nation.”

The promotions not only reinforce the Defence Force’s command structure but also serve as an inspiration to younger officers who aspire to serve with excellence and honor.

As Eswatini marches forward in peace and preparedness, these rank elevations echo a resounding message: the kingdom is investing in strong, visionary leadership for a safer, more secure future.
