MPOLONJENI – His Majesty King Mswati III has officially handed over developmental projects valued at E114 million to the Mpolonjeni Constituency.

During his tour of the constituency, the king commended Microprojects for spearheading infrastructure development, not only in Mpolonjeni but across the nation. He acknowledged the organization’s role in utilizing the Regional Development Fund (RDF) to implement these projects.

His Majesty highlighted that Microprojects had constructed schools and critical infrastructure such as bridges, with these initiatives amounting to E65 million.

In addition, the king handed over projects worth E27 million to various cooperative societies within the constituency. The contributions included four tipper trucks, multiple TLB tractors, and other agricultural machinery from John Deere.

The king expressed confidence that these projects would empower communities to enhance their livelihoods. He emphasized that the income generated from these trucks should reach a minimum of E600,000 per month, ensuring sustainable economic growth and eradicating poverty.

Furthermore, the king inaugurated a clean water project in the constituency, a collaboration between Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) and World Vision. Valued at E22 million, the initiative aims to provide clean water to every household.

Recalling his previous visit, His Majesty noted that at the time, the area had limited water sources, with only small dams indicating the scarcity of water. The new project, he affirmed, marks a significant step towards achieving water security.

His Majesty also handed over ten newly built houses for the elderly and assured that more homes would be constructed in the coming years. He stated that annually, similar projects would be undertaken across all four regions to support senior citizens.

The king expressed satisfaction with the improving housing standards in the country, noting that quality homes were replacing low-cost housing. He emphasized the importance of caring for the elderly, recognizing their wisdom as a valuable asset to national development.

During his visit, His Majesty was entertained by vibrant performances from schools such as KaNdzangu, Mpolonjeni, Siphoso, and Nyetane. Residents of KaNdzangu also performed Sibhaca for the king, alongside traditional dances like Ummiso and Ingadla.

Notably, praise singers Nonhlanhla Hleta from KaNdzangu High School and Sizolwethu Mabhobhonono Motsa of Mpolonjeni Chiefdom, under Chief Macebo Dvuba, captivated the audience. Their praises of the king earned Motsa a special moment to take a picture with His Majesty.
