LOBAMBA – His Majesty King Mswati III has officially opened the League of African Churches offices, valued at E1.5 million.

The offices were opened on April 20, 2025 at Nkanini in Lobamba, in the vicinity of the National Church. His Majesty also got an opportunity to toured the new building.

This was after the conclusion of the 2025 Resurrection Sunday services at Somhlolo National Stadium, where His Majesty reaffirmed that 2025 is the Year of Transformation for Eswatini. He also announced, during his sermonat the stadium, the official opening of the offices.

Speaking in front of thousands of believers from different churches across the country, His Majesty the King described Jesus as a hero among heroes. He said many heroes were celebrated in the world, but Jesus was the most celebrated one.

The king said Jesus was the only hero that managed to be resurrected after he died. He stated that anyone who would be privileged to see Jesus’s tomb, would find no one there.

The king pleaded with the nation to ensure that Jesus had risen on their hearts, as they remembered his resurrection. He promised them that they would be prosperous if they listened to the counsel of Jesus, as outlined in the Bible. He said even countries that listened to Jesus would prosper.

The king reminded the nation that 2025 was declared as the year of transformation, where the intention was to bring reforms in the country’s standard of living. The king said all these things could only be made possible if Jesus was at the centre of everything for the country.

The king further pleaded with Emaswati to ensure that whenever they got the blessing, they should not forget the source of the blessings. He made an example of ancient Israelites, who would sometimes forget God’s blessings upon arriving at Canaan, which was the promised land for the Israelites.

Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, who spoke on behalf of the king, also warned Emaswati against the act of forsaking God. She said such an act could invite God’s wrath, as it happened in ancient Egypt, when God punished Pharoah, the king of Egypt, for refusing to free the Israelites.

Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who introduced Their Majesties during the service, also opened the book of John 10:17 and 18. He said Jesus told his disciples that God loved them such that he allowed him to die for humanity so that it could be saved. He said Jesus was the only one who was supposed to be served before of the power he had and the love he had for humanity.

Five pastors were given an opportunity to sermonise. Their sermons were based on the books of the New Testament, which gave an account of Jesus’s resurrection.
