This year’s event promises to be a memorable occasion, combining music, community spirit, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.. The highlight of the evening will be the symbolic switch-off from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, during which individuals, communities, and businesses around the globe will turn off non-essential electric lights to demonstrate their commitment to the planet. This year’s theme, “Switch off. Give an hour for Earth,” encapsulates the essence of the movement, encouraging everyone to take a moment to reflect on their impact on the environment.
Earth Hour is not just an event; it is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) aimed at raising awareness about climate change and promoting sustainable practices. Since its inception in 2007 as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia, Earth Hour has grown into a global phenomenon, inspiring millions to take action for the planet. Each year, landmarks and businesses across the globe participate by switching off their lights for one hour, symbolizing a collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
