MATSAPHA – EmaSwati gathered in large numbers to support local comedians Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane during their electrifying performance at Esibayeni Lodge on Friday night (2 May 2025).
The audience packed the Esangweni Auditorium for the much-anticipated “Our Typa One Man Show,” which delivered an evening filled with humor, entertainment, and a heartwarming message of community support.
The night featured colorful performances by local artists, including poet Festival B born Siphesihle Dlamini and musician M Nation born Wandile Ndlovu, who brought their unique flair to the stage. The show was expertly directed by Thamsanqa Sibandze of KrTC, adding to the overall experience.
From the outset, Gogo Eswatini born Mduduzi Nkambule and S’lwane born Ncamiso Ntjingila set the tone for an engaging evening, opening the show with energetic dancing and singing cover songs from local gospel artists. Among the audience was Ndunduzo Matse, whose song “On Your Marks” was humorously acknowledged by the duo as they playfully proclaimed they wouldn’t outshine him.
The comedians, dressed to impress—Gogo in a striking green Sidziya adorned with a modern glittering ligcebesha and red-bottomed stilettos, while S’lwane sported a chic gold and black designer suit—delivered jokes that resonated with the audience, touching on topics such as politics, relationships, and everyday life.
In a commendable gesture, the duo announced that 25% of ticket sales would be donated to various community causes. They encouraged attendees to contribute further, whether through donations of school jerseys, shoes, or any form of support for the underprivileged. They also called for representatives from the Ministry of Education to engage in initiatives aimed at motivating students toward tertiary education.
Gogo highlighted their commitment to the community: “Our work and our very existence as a brand are nothing without the love the community has given us over the past five years. We hope this contribution changes the course of all the recipients of this assistance’s lives.”
The charity contributions will be allocated as follows 10% for application fees for prospective students facing financial challenges.
5% for connecting tertiary students with mental health support.5% to assist students with basic needs such as sanitary pads and food. 2.5% for securing school shoes and jerseys for underprivileged children.
2.5% to subsidize career-guidance programs in high schools.
S’lwane emphasized the importance of using their influence to uplift others, stating, “What is the point of our influence if we cannot leverage it to influence the direction of the next person’s life?”
With the promise of a memorable night and affordable accommodation options, the duo encouraged all EmaSwati to attend and support their initiatives.
As the night came to a close, attendees left with not only smiles on their faces but also a sense of fulfillment, knowing their laughter contributed to a greater cause, reinforcing the powerful bond between the comedians and their community.
