MBABANE – The Leadership Growth Forum (LGF) has announced the second edition of the Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini Leadership Memorial Lecture, scheduled for March 28, 2025, at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Commerce Lecture Hall, Kwaluseni Campus, Matsapha.

This engaging event begins at 5:30 PM and is free and open to the public.

Purpose of the Lecture

This annual lecture serves as a platform for fostering leadership excellence and honoring the legacy of Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini, a visionary corporate leader who seamlessly transitioned into public service.

Theme of the Lecture

This year’s theme, “The Power of Intentionality in Building Future Leaders,” emphasizes the significance of deliberate action in leadership development. It encourages both aspiring and established leaders to cultivate purpose-driven strategies that drive meaningful change. This theme resonates not only with those who knew Dlamini personally but also with anyone eager to understand the core of intentional leadership.

Keynote Speaker

The keynote speaker for this year’s lecture is Mr. Mpho Makwana, a distinguished leader with extensive corporate experience. His impressive background includes roles such as:

– Chairman of Eskom and the Nedbank Board in South Africa.

– Current leadership positions as Chair of Epitome Private Equity Fund Managers, Epitome Investments, and Epitome Archetypes.

Makwana’s experience also includes serving as a panelist for the Centre for Global Inclusion’s Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmark Report and volunteering as a Trustee on the Board of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. His address is anticipated to provide invaluable insights on how leaders can leverage intentionality to shape the future.

Reflection on Dlamini’s Legacy

Lungile Nxumalo, an executive who worked closely with Dlamini, poignantly remarked, “He was not the position himself; he was a person leading.” This captures the essence of Dlamini’s leadership philosophy—prioritizing people over titles and impact over authority.

Event Goals

According to Phiwe Dlamini, LGF Media and Public Liaison Officer, this event is more than just a tribute; it is an opportunity to inspire and equip future leaders. He stated, “This memorial lecture is a space for learning, networking, and engaging with leadership principles that shape nations.” The aim is to cultivate a culture of intentional leadership that transforms both individuals and communities.
