MHLUME- Liswati born boxer Mancoba Brandon “Brix” Dlamini has emerged as one of Eswatini’s most award-winning boxers, with a trail of awards marking his rapid rise in the sport.
Dlamini started boxing 2017. He used to watch his cousin and sometimes go to training with him.He mentioned that sometimes he used to imitate what his cousin was playing not knowing that he was imitating himself. “It all started in 2017, I used to go with my cousin.” Said Dlamini. ” One day my cousin’s colleague did not have a partner and since I was used seeing people boxing , I was asked to part take and unfortunately battled very well that’s when I was advised to go for boxing after seeing that I have a potential.” Narated Dlamini.
His natural talent and dedication quickly translated into competitive success. By 2018, just a year after taking up the sport, Dlamini was already making waves, winning the National Championship, securing a gold medal, and taking home both the best trophy and best bout awards. In 2019, he also received a silver medal plus Best bout trophy, followed by 2022 he won a National championship with a gold medal plus Best bout trophy and the Zone 4 African Championship bronze medalits simultaneously.
Dlamini appreciating the opportunity he said that being a boxer has helped him positively in his life. “Joining this sport has gave me so much discipline such as staying away from drugs. It has also helped me to handle so much pressure and to control my anger no matter what.” Stated Dlamini. The following year, Dlamini continued his strong form, claiming a silver medal and once again receiving the Best Bout trophy, highlighting his consistency and skill in the ring.
With a career marked by discipline, hard work, and a growing list of accolades, Mancoba Bradon Brix Dlamini is a name to watch in African boxing. As he continues to represent Eswatini with pride, fans and supporters are eager to see what heights he will reach next.
