MBABANE – The Little Incwala ceremony has gained significant momentum as it moved to the Mpumalanga Royal Residence on Day eight.
The national event, which began on December 1 at Ludzidzini Royal Residence, has seen continued participation from all corners of the kingdom.
His Majesty King Mswati III continues to lead the nation in the traditional singing and dancing that defines this important national event. On Day three, Their Majesties joined the nation in song and dance, further uplifting the celebratory spirit.
With the ceremony now taking place at Mpumalanga, His Majesty has remained at the forefront, guiding the regiment as they participate in the daily celebrations.
Yesterday, the King was joined by Emakhosikati, Emazinyane, Chiefs, and His Excellency the Right Honourable Prime Minister, Russell Mmuso Dlamini, all of whom contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the event. The Little Incwala continues to draw large crowds, with people from all walks of life coming together in unity to celebrate.
The event, which has now spread beyond the Mpumalanga Royal Residence, also saw participation from the Ludzidzini Royal Residence, where the Queen Mother, Indlovukazi, led the nation in song and dance. This year’s celebration is notable for its widespread participation across various royal residences, demonstrating the growing enthusiasm for the ceremony.
In addition to the royal family and dignitaries, large groups of Lacwebebetelako, Lutsango, Imbali, and visitors from across the country have come together to partake in the Little Incwala.
On Thursday, companies and individuals who had attended the national event showered the King with gifts (tetfulo) at Ngabezweni Royal Residence. The gifts, valued at around E21 million, included money, cattle, groceries, shoes, bags, drinks, and T-shirts.
As the Little Incwala continues, His Majesty is expected to move to the Hhohho region, where he will spend several days at the Buhleni Royal Residence before commissioning the Ingaja.
