LOBAMBA DECLARED ESWATINI’S TOURISM HUB

MBABANE – Lobamba Inkhundla has been declared as one of the country’s hub of the tourism industry.

This declaration was made today (Thursday, August 1, 2024) by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini. This was during the tour of the Lobamba Inkhundla Service Centre and the hand-over of a Toyota Quantum kombi to an association known as Khulisani bo Make.

The premier said Lobamba Inkhundla had a lot of tourist attraction sites, such as the King Sobhuza Park, the Parliament building, Somhlolo National Stadium, Mantenga Cultural Village and Nature Reserve, the National Museum, the National Archives, Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, hospitality establishments such as hotels and lodges, among other places.

Lobamba, the premier added, is known as a place where traditional national events such as Umhlanga and Incwala take place. These events are known for attracting many tourists from all over the world, who usually come and watch the events.

Because of the presence of these places, the premier advised the residents of the Inkhundla to use this opportunity to start small businesses, such as selling of traditional products. He said such places could also give the residents some job opportunities. These could help the residents of the Inkhundla, especially the youth, to fight poverty.
