NGULWINI – Locals prove local is still lekker!
Patrons almost forgot that the headliners’ South African Afro-pop duo Blaq Diamond was scheduled for their debut appearance at Ehawini Lifestyle on Saturday (01 February 2025), as local DJs, mainly DJ Cup ,Lady Zee and Sbu The Drum DJ excelled with their sets.

When reached for comment on the reason the SA duo didn’t pitch, Ehawini’ Lifestyle’s Zeeyanda Shabalala shared with this publication that the duo was paid, and it was disappointing for them not to honour their commitment on their end. “We are still waiting for their management to send us an official statement to explain their no-show and give us a new date for a make-up show, as they were paid,” shared Shabalala.

When asked if there was any commotion when patrons realised that the headliners were a no-show? Shabalala revealed that fortunately there was none as Ehawini Lifestyle prides itself with tight security. According to Shabalala, patrons had fun and only left in the early hours of the morning.
By the time of compiling this article, Blaq Diamond management had not sent an official statement. The Blaq Diamond duo consists of Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa. Blaq Diamond is a South African pop duo from KwaZulu Natal.
It is worth mentioning that Blaq Diamond was also booked for an appearance at Mega Lounge for the First Assembly later on, but didn’t pitch there either.
Other local DJs who also performed at the show included Itsallblaq, Knoxman, DJ Cup, DJ Maphi, and Tilungu. It was hosted by the vibrant Nqaba Ginindza.
Ehawini is located just 10 minutes away from Manzini; pass Hhelehhele on your way to Ngculwini.
Next week Friday (14 February 2025), will see the same venue host South African singer and songwriter, Xowla_Istallion. He has collaborated with the Inkabi Zezwe duo. Sjava, Big Zulu, Lwa Ndlunkulu, Mduduzi Ncube, DJ Tira,Siya Ntuli, and many more.
