LOZITHA – The Mandvulo Praise Team transformed the national prayer service at Mandvulo Grand Hall into an uplifting worship experience, captivating the congregation with powerful renditions of gospel favourites.
The event began under light rain at 9:51 a.m. as worshippers arrived.
By 10:21 a.m., the public was ushered into the grand hall. The Royal Family arrived in sequence after 1:00 p.m., with Emakhosikati leading the procession, followed by Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, and finally, His Majesty King Mswati III, who made a grand entrance accompanied by former South African President Jacob Zuma.
Attendees dressed in a mix of traditional attire, formal wear, and smart casual, reflecting the reverent yet celebratory tone of the occasion.
Reverend Nhlanhla Hlatshwayo, serving as both praise team leader and program director, set the spiritual tone. The praise team’s elegant appearance—ladies in silky purple dresses and gentlemen in black suits with white shirts—added to the solemnity. Notable performers included gospel star Nothando Hlophe, celebrated for her hit song Khulula Ugcobo and her role in South Africa’s Spirit of Praise ensemble. She was joined by 2022 Eswatini Gospel Female Artist of the Year, Nothando Dlamini, who recently triumphed at the NACA Awards.
The praise team took the stage at 11:28 a.m., opening with Khuleleka Moya Ongwele. They interwove worship songs with sermons from pastors, maintaining an atmosphere of devotion. Reverends Jacob Mngomezulu, Tembe, Masilela, Mnisi, and Simelane delivered powerful messages, while Reverend Dube led the congregation in prayer.
Prime Minister Russell Dlamini introduced former President Jacob Zuma, who addressed the gathering, followed by Her Majesty the Queen Mother, who delivered a heartfelt sermon. His Majesty King Mswati III concluded the service with an inspiring sermon that resonated deeply with attendees.
The service ended with the national anthem, leaving congregants spiritually uplifted. The Mandvulo Praise Team’s contribution turned the event into a remarkable fusion of worship, music, and national unity, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to spiritual values.
