MBABANE – The biggest game in the country, the Mbabane derby between Mbabane Swallows and Highlanders will be played on Sunday (April 27, 2025) at Mavuso Sports Centre.
It will be the only game to be played on Sunday under match-day 22 of the MTN Premier League. The much anticipated match will kick-off at 3pm with ticket already available for the supporters country-wide.
Despite the two Mbabane rivals outside the race, there are bragging rights that they will be fighting for. Swallows who are hosting the match is in sixth spot with 34 points while Mbabane Highlanders are seventh on 27 points.
Mbabane Swallows were 2-0 victorious when the two sides last played on November 2024 in a league match.
The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) released the fixtures on Tuesday. The rest of the games would be played on Saturday (April 26, 2025) at different venues.
“After a busy Easter Monday, we focus on this weekend’s fixture and the highly anticipated Mbabane Derby. Tickets are already available across all official platforms. Don’t miss out,” reads a statement from PLE.
Log leaders Nsingizini Hotspurs will host Manzini Sea Birds on Saturday at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, kick-off 3pm.
Tittle chasers and second placed Royal Leopard will visit relegated threatened Sisonkhe at Mayaluka Stadium, kick-off 3pm while Young Buffaloes will face Rangers in an earlier kick-off in the double header fixtures.
Green Mamba will be up against Madlenya at Simunye Sports Ground. Match to start at 2:30pm with Moneni Pirates hosting Illovo at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre, kick-off 2:30pm.
