MBABANE – International football player Mcolisi Mkhontfo has survived the axe from 16 players who were released and loaned out by his team in Botswana, Jwaneng Galaxy.
Mkhontfo who had played one from the two seasons he signed for with the Botswana Super League has been seen as an asset by the club. Jwaneng Galaxy loaned out six players with eight shown the exit door.
Jwaneng Galaxy secured their first-ever league and cup double after winning the Orange FA Cup last weekend. The Morena Ramoreboli-led side added the previously elusive FA Cup to their trophy cabinet to go along with their Botswana Premier League title. Mkhontfo was part of the teams achievement having signed for the in the 2023/ 24 season.
Galaxy will be playing in the CAF Champions League were they face Namibian league champions African Stars. This will be during the preliminary rounds of the 2024/25 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League to be played on the weekend of August 16-18, 2024.
Mkhontfo was not part of the National team, Sihlangu that played in the COSAFA Cup.
