GEGE – In a significant boost for local entrepreneurship, Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, S’khumbuzo Dlamini, today handed over accessories worth E130 000 to Phatfwakahle Multipurpose Cooperative.
The handover, part of government’s ongoing support for community development, included tents, 200 plastic chairs, a generator, two plastic toilets, three foldable tables, and six pots.

Dlamini commended the cooperative for effectively utilizing the Regional Development Fund (RDF), emphasizing that such initiatives are key to reducing poverty and curbing hunger. He remarked, “As means to reduce poverty and curb hunger, members of the cooperative have taken advantage of the Regional Development Fund available at the Tinkhundla Centres. Such a move promises that the lives of Phatfwakahle Multipurpose members will improve for the better.”
Since 2015, the RDF has financed projects amounting to E8 million in Gege Inkhundla alone, showcasing the government’s commitment to uplifting communities through sustainable development and entrepreneurship.

Encouraging more emaSwati to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, Minister Dlamini urged, “I therefore encourage emaSwati who are contemplating entrepreneurial ventures, but uncertain about securing financial resources to visit their respective Tinkhundla Centres and make use of Government funds and grants.”

The Regional Development Fund, managed through the Tinkhundla Centres, has been instrumental in empowering local communities by providing financial support for various development projects across the country. The successful implementation of such initiatives underscores the government’s dedication to fostering a self-reliant and prosperous nation.

The Phatfwakahle Multipurpose Cooperative’s members expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the accessories would significantly enhance their operations and service delivery. This development marks yet another positive stride in Eswatini’s ongoing efforts to support grassroots entrepreneurship and economic growth.
