MBABANE – Moneni Pirates made a gracious presentation to His Majesty King Mswati III, offering a commemorative souvenir kit following their 0-1 defeat to Royal Leopard in the Ingwenyama Cup final.
The presentation was led by Moneni Pirates Chairman Thulani Xaba, who was accompanied by his team as they ascended the stage to deliver the kit to His Majesty. Despite enduring a defeat in their inaugural final of the Ingwenyama Cup, the Pirates will find solace in their financial reward of E650 000.
Moneni Pirates is currently enjoying resurgence, having been revitalized under the new chairmanship at the beginning of the season. In stark contrast to last year, when the Buccaneers struggled against relegation, this season has heralded a new chapter.
In a remarkable display of camaraderie, the Pirates also welcomed renowned South African businesswoman and former Royal AM owner, Shauwn “Mamkhize” Mkhize, alongside her son Andile Mpisane, at Somhlolo National Stadium. Their arrival was met with resounding cheers from the enthusiastic fans.
Additionally, the South African dignitaries had the honour of meeting Prime Minister Russell Dlamini as they joined the Moneni Pirates team during the medal ceremony.
