MBABANE – Renowned South African Actor Muzi Mthabela is next month expected to be part of an event aimed at reminding boys on how they are expected to behave, as they grow up.
The event will be held by an organisation known as Gentleman Talk, which is a movement promoting traditional values among boys. The movement will be holding a five-day retreat for boys’ discipline at the Bondlandlama Farm in Maphungwane, under Matsanjeni North Inkhundla in the Lubombo Region from August 12 to 16, 2024.
Mthabela has appeared in many different popular South African soapies such as Isibaya, Imbewu: The Sees, and My Brother’s Keeper. News24 reported in March that Mthabela joined one of South Africa’s popular radio stations, Ukhozi FM, where he was set to host the station’s podcast, called Ukhozi FM TV show with Neliswa Cele.
Founder of Gentleman Talk Mfundo Dlamini confirmed this during an interview with the publication. The whole theme of the camp is ‘going back to the roots’.
“In today’s fast-paced world, it’s crucial for our young men to be disciplined and prepared to face life’s challenges head-on. Our camp aims to instil positive habits, teach essential life skills, and help boys learn to navigate peer pressure and negative influences effectively,” he said.
At this discipline-focused camp for boys, an impressive line-up of speakers will guide participants through lessons in discipline and responsibility, decision-making and peer pressure support, as well as providing mentorship. The goal is to help boys develop character and adopt strategies that will lead to positive life choices.
This impressive list of speakers includes the praised actor Muzi Mthabela, the camp director Mfundo Dlamini, psychologist Ndosh, facilitator Clement Dlamini and Reverend Richard Dlamini. With their diverse expertise, the boys will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into discipline, responsibility, and decision-making from a variety of perspectives.
The camp is open to boys in the adolescent stage aged 12 to 20, who are at a critical point in their lives and can benefit from guidance. During the five-day stay, the boys will engage in structured daily outdoor activities designed to help them develop discipline, self-awareness, and responsibility.
