MBABANE – The long-anticipated Mvambi-Sigangeni (D78) road project is now 80% complete, with the finish line set for the end of January 2025.
Once completed, the road will be a vital link for communities, enhancing connectivity and accessibility in the Hhohho Region.
The upgraded road, paved with durable asphalt, will serve as a critical artery connecting Siphocosini and Motshane via the D78 route. This improvement is expected to significantly enhance transportation efficiency and safety for both pedestrians and motorists in the area.
Moreover, the road is strategically positioned to provide access to essential facilities and institutions, including Siphocosini High School, Sigangeni Primary and High School, as well as the Sigangeni Inkhundla and Clinic. Local residents are optimistic that the project will boost the region’s socio-economic development by improving mobility for students, healthcare workers, and community members.
A representative from the project management team expressed confidence in meeting the January 2025 completion deadline, stating, “The road will be transformative for the region, reducing travel times and supporting the local economy. We are committed to delivering a high-quality infrastructure for the community.”
The Mvambi-Sigangeni road project underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas, promoting development, and improving the standard of living for residents.
Residents eagerly await the completion of the project, as it promises not only to improve access to essential services but also to unlock economic opportunities in the surrounding areas.
