MBABANE – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy has given a warm welcome to new Principal Secretary (PS) Lindiwe Mbingo.
According to information sourced from the Ministry’s social media platforms, there is excitement within the Ministry, as Mbingo assumes her role in her new ‘home.’ Mbingo will now be the one in charge of the natural resources and energy portfolio in Kingdom of Eswatini, as she has been affected by the recent reshuffle among certain PSs, as announced by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, on instructions of His Majesty King Mswati III.
“We are thrilled to have Ms Lindiwe Mbingo join the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy Eswatini as the new Principal Secretary (PS). The Ministry will undoubtedly benefit from Mbingo’s expertise and experience as she steers the Ministry towards the sustainable management of the country’s natural resources and innovative energy solutions,” said the Ministry.
Mbingo’s appointment to the Ministry has been hailed as a game-changer, with a background serving as PS in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office.
Her rich experience does not stop there. Mbingo’s resume has been described as diverse, as it is seen as impressive. Before joining the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, Mbingo has had a stint at the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO), Ministry of Public Service, and the Ministry of Labour. Therefore, it is felt that her understanding of Government and its varied sectors is vast and that will help in moving the Ministry of Natural Resources forward.
On July 17, 2024, His Majesty King Mswati III announced the reshuffling of Principal Secretaries, which included the appointment of Vusi Dlamini as the new Principal Secretary under the Ministry of Finance, with Dorcas Dlamini bein moved as the new PS in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. Melusi Masuku was changed from the DPMO to lead the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, while Siboniso Nkambule was changed to serve in the DPMO.
