The artists are celebrated poet, playwright and voice of women’s stories Dzeli the Poet, born Dzelisile Mdluli Lekgowe. The second artist is local born soprano opera singer Tengesihle Mimi Gwebu, and Rina Mthethwa who is a soulful singer with rhythm and blues.
This was confirmed by New Life Entertainment’s Thembinkosi Mthethwa. This year’s edition will be held at the Happy Valley Hotel, Garden, on December 8, 2024. The fourth edition of the successful franchise of The Divas Concert is presented by the Sunday Chill-Out. It is expected to kick off at 12pm until 8pm.
It is worth mentioning that the three artists are joining the sensational, award-winning Zoe Modiga. Modiga’s real name is Palesa Nomthandazo Phumelele Modiga and she was born in KwaZulu Natal (KZN), South Africa. The concert is an all-female line-up which promises to uplift, inspire, and celebrate the divine power of women in music.
The first Divas concert was headlined by South African artist Berita; the second edition was Kelly Khumalo; and last year it was headlined by Amanda Black. Last year’s edition was held at The George Hotel Gardens on 3 December 2023.
It was supported by local artists, namely Velemiseni, Floewe, Nomalungelo, Khole, Iya, Mvelo, Nothando Hlophe, and Phathwakahle. It is worth mentioning that New Life Entertainment is also behind the success of the growing Makoti Festival brand, which was held this year in April at The Malkerns Country Club. This year was the third edition.
