MBABANE – The newly discovered diamonds should be used so that the economy of the country can improve by creating jobs.

This was said by Madlangemphisi Member of Parliament (MP) Allen Vilane during the debate of the 2023 to 2028 Government Policy Statement. In his submission, Vilane told his fellow legislators that in Dvokolwako, there was a site where there were new diamonds that had to be extracted so that money could be made for the country.

“We once had a meeting with Minister of Public Works and Transport (Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe) at Dvokolwako, where we discovered that the existing diamond mine was actually a small one, compared to the newly discovered one,” Vilane said. Because of that, Vilane felt the exploitation of the new mine had to be accelerated so that the residents of his constituency could be able to have jobs.

Vilane told Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini that Madlangemphisi residents were eager to work so that they could be able to make ends meet. The legislator called upon the nation to support the prime minister, as he believed that what the premier did was the best for the country. He said if the prime minister wanted to get something for the country, he should be supported in doing so for the betterment of Eswatini and its people.
