NGCULWINI — Community Police members in Ngculwini have been outfitted with a full suite of new protective equipment.
During the End of Year National Crime and Road Accident Prevention Campaign held on December 3, 2025, the volunteers took receipt of brand-new overalls, heavy-duty safety boots, and high-visibility reflectors provided by the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS).
This operational upgrade is designed to do more than just uniform the force; it is a strategic move to strengthen their capacity to protect the neighborhood and support efforts to dismantle crime syndicates. The new protective gear is expected to significantly improve the visibility, safety, and efficiency of Community Police members as they conduct patrols. This support is particularly timely as they assist the REPS in maintaining law and order during the festive season, a period when both traffic volumes and criminal activity typically increase.
The handover was driven by a clear operational mantra: “Police remain resolute in dismantling crime syndicates and preventing road crashes to fortify the security and safety of the nation”. This underscores the service’s commitment to intensifying crime prevention efforts while tackling road safety issues head-on across communities.

Serving with Compassion
Following the distribution of the uniforms, the event’s attention shifted to the humanitarian aspect of the campaign. Representing the Royal Eswatini Police Service, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini presented food hampers to 10 underprivileged elderly residents, ensuring the most vulnerable members of the community were not forgotten this Christmas.
Dlamini emphasized that the police service exists for more than just enforcement; it serves to respond to the people’s social and humanitarian needs. He noted that supporting the elderly and vulnerable is a fundamental part of strengthening community bonds and building essential trust between the police and the public.
A Holistic Approach
Residents of Ngculwini warmly welcomed the initiative, describing it as a strong message of unity, responsibility, and care. Community members remarked that the combined focus on security and compassion reflects a holistic approach to nation-building, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Ultimately, the event reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the government, the Royal Eswatini Police Service, and local communities in creating a safer, more caring, and united society.
